Henry Pumps is a Pump Retail Specialist based in Chesterfield and who supply nationally & also have an in house repair facility.

They are seeking an Experienced, Passionate and Results-Oriented Warehouse & Logistics Operative, and someone who wants to progress their career.

This is an important role, and you will be part of a Growing, Successful Team who are focused on Getting the Business to the Next Level.

 

Salary & Hours - Full Time or PT Pro Rata.  £13 - £15 PHr + Overtime / Bonus

Full-time working in the office

Mon – Thu 8.00 - 5.00, & Fri 8.00 – 4.00.

Duties and responsibilities

  1. Book daily couriers, generate shipping labels, and ensure all dispatch paperwork is accurate.
  2. Pick, pack, and dispatch customer orders in a timely manner.
  3. Receive deliveries, check against purchase orders, and store goods correctly.
  4. Maintain accurate stock levels within the system, including regular stock counts and reporting shortages/overstock.
  5. Keep the warehouse/workshop organised, tidy, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
  6. Assist with returns, repairs, and customer collections, ensuring correct documentation and handling.
  7. Support workshop activities where required, including builds, hose assemblies, and basic equipment checks/cleaning.
  8. Telephone support to proactively advise customers on the progress of their shipment.
  9. Prepare equipment for servicing or dispatch (cleaning, visual inspection, basic prep work).
  10. Log stock movements into the CRM or accounting system (e.g. Sage) where required.
  11. Provide operational support to the wider team as needed.

Results expected 

  1. All customer orders are picked, packed, and dispatched accurately and on time each day.
  2. Courier bookings and shipping paperwork are completed correctly, ensuring no delays in collections or deliveries.
  3. Stock records are kept accurate through timely logging, counts, and reporting, reducing shortages and overstock.
  4. The warehouse/workshop is kept clean, organised, and safe, supporting efficiency and compliance with H&S.
  5. Returns, repairs, and customer collections are handled smoothly and professionally.
  6. Workshop and operational staff are supported effectively, freeing up their time to focus on core duties.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  1. Ability to organise and prioritise daily tasks to ensure all orders are dispatched on time.
  2. Basic IT skills to use courier booking systems, generate labels, and update stock records.
  3. Understanding of safe manual handling practices and general health & safety awareness.
  4. Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in stock control, deliveries, and paperwork.
  5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, supporting colleagues when required.
  6. Willingness to learn about the company’s products and services to assist with workshop/operational tasks.
  7. A positive, practical attitude with the flexibility to adapt to varied duties within the role.

Experience Needed

  1. Experience of practical, hands-on work (e.g. warehouse, workshop, trade, or similar).
  2. Experience using basic IT systems for tasks such as data entry, printing labels, or booking deliveries.
  3. Experience working in a team environment and following instructions accurately.
  4. Experience maintaining a tidy and organised workspace.
  5. Experience handling goods, tools, or equipment safely.

 

Other/Special Requirements

  1. I am physically able to carry out manual handling tasks (lifting, moving, and packing goods safely).
  2. I am willing to work flexibly, supporting other areas of the business when required.
  3. I am prepared to work occasional overtime during busy periods to ensure orders are dispatched on time.
  4. I will comply with all company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  5. I will maintain a positive and proactive attitude, even when carrying out repetitive or varied tasks.
